HORMONES

For women hormones have a huge impact from birth and throughout our lives and that isn’t taking into account our monthly cycle. The changes in our hormones have the power to change how we think and feel. Our thoughts and feelings can also impact on our hormones creating a chemical change in our brains which can leave us with feelings of fear; of rejection, fear of being alone, feelings of hurt and anger. But it’s time to take control of our hormones and feelings, take back our power and live how we want to live, rather be controlled by our mind and body.

 

Note:  Hormones is not a subject that we will discuss in detail, just being aware of the power our hormones have over our thoughts and vice versa can make an impact towards helping you to take control of your life.  If, like me, your monthly cycle has caused mood swings with, at times, devastating consequences because you made rash decisions and lost control, possibly pushing your loved ones further away only to wonder what happened a few days later.  You can read The Female Brain by Louann Brizendine, MD, whilst you are here in Dalyan – I think some of the contents with truly help you to think differently.

EAT RIGHT FOR YOUR BLOOD TYPE

We are not experts about this subject matter but it's something we live by, can explain what we know, let you read the book for yourself and even tell you, if you don't know already, what your blood group is so that you can see for yourself, what foods suit your blood type.

We also recommend that you avoid eating wheat as several other authors we have read believe it is bad you and I (Joanne) for one noticed the difference when I stopped eating toast for breakfast, having sandwiches for lunch and bread with our evening meal - hard to resist when the bread is served fresh in all the restaurants in Dalyan!  I had noticed for a while that I felt tired after eating toast for breakfast which I thought was a bit strange having had a good nights sleep so my energy levels increased after changing what I had for breakfast plus I lost several kilos. 

 

Below we list some books that will hep you to find alternative food and meals without wheat, in addition to gluten and dairy free.  We have met the author, Antoinette and a friend of ours who is gluten intolerant was impressed with her books too.  Also you might like to consider making your own bread, so why not buy a breakmaker to make life easier and enable you to easily make bread that is healthier - you will decide what the ingredients are therfore you can eliminate preservatives etc.  What a fantastic idea!  Panasonic have 20 years of experience manufacturing breadmakers, this model gets good reviews on the Amazon site:
