WHY MIND HARMONY?

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It's our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves; who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of the universe.

Your playing small doesn't serve the world.

There is nothing enlightening about shrinking,

so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are born to make manifest the glory of the universe

that is within us.  It's not just in some of us: it is in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,

we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

And as we are liberated from our own fear,

our presence automatically liberates others.

Gulet trip with special visitors - friends from the UK I was already a Stress Management Consultant (having done a Stress Management Diploma which entailed learning a variety of what were classed as holistic massages, in addition to counselling skills) and had undergone counselling sessions a short while after the passing of my 5 year old daughter, Rebecca Emily Ralphs.  Probably the worst time of my life and what proved to be the catalyst in directing me to learning massages and a vast range of healing therapies.  I heard about EFT from a Therapist friend who was on holiday with us in Dalyan, Turkey She had had EFT sessions with someone who was learning EFT and needed case studies as part of her training, my friend, Sandra, had a serious snake phobia, so much so she couldn’t look at a picture of a snake, let alone say the word and if you said the word, she would freak out.  It all sounded very bizarre to me when she demonstrated the tapping points on the face and how emotional she had been during the therapy. Sandra didn’t tell us the details but her snake phobia turned out to have nothing to do with snakes.  Stranger and stranger!

I did however buy a book and was surprised to find that EFT proved to be an incredibly powerful healing tool for me, I got results simply from reading a book and following the instructions but the results weren’t permanent because I didn’t know enough about it.   I had an anger issue that I decided I couldn’t live with anymore, it could be triggered in an instance but it could be something very trivial but it was making my life a misery and no doubt Tom’s and others too.   It was only after doing EFT that I realised had I tried to explain the reasons for my anger, it was obvious it was illogical and so I reasons and excuses would have caused me embarrassment, shame and maybe even felt guilt as to how I had treated people at my times of anger (I felt at times I was on the ceiling, literally, at times.   Ready to explode!).   I sought help from an EFT Practitioner – I was prepared to fly to the UK from Turkey but when I rang the author of the book I had read (Emotional Healing in Minutes) he explained that as I knew the tapping points he could do the therapy over the phone.

I was surprised, even shocked, at what came up for me.   I had no idea that my anger was to do with the medical profession, many of whom had made so many mistakes regarding Rebecca’s health eg on one occasion when I was very concerned that something was wrong with her but I didn’t know what I took her to hospital, the Doctor we saw told me she was too belligerent to be ill but it turned out she was in heart failure!

After my EFT session I felt like the world had been lifted off my shoulders but when my husband returned home to find I had been in floods of tears (I was very emotional during the EFT session but that isn’t always the case, there are techniques “tearless trauma” for instance, that we can use as a more gentle approach) he too was shocked to hear what the Therapist had uncovered/worked on. He was quite cross with me for not telling him how I felt so it was a surprise to him too when I told him I hadn’t known myself!

Note: It isn’t totally necessary for clients to discuss their details with the Therapist, if they’d prefer not ie because they are too traumatic, upsetting or embarrassing.  The issue can still be healed as I have experienced working with a client regarding child abuse.

I decided to learn how to do EFT and became a Practitioner.   I watched hours of DVD’s showing workshops and case studies and did on-line exams but even though qualified I decided I wanted to have some interaction ie do a course with real people.    So I travelled to the  UK many times to do courses and get my certificate.   My initial training was with a Clinical Psychologist who was also using EFT as a Therapist.

I read Dr Callahan's book, Thought Field Therapy (Gary Craig, founder of EFT learned from Dr Callahan but changed the methods, made it easier to use and easier for everyone to learn and so do it for themselves), who had been searching for a new technique because he believed psychotherapy was only 5% successful working on fears and phobias! Hence it takes months or even years to cure people’s emotional issues and then not always eg he had been working with a client with a fear of water for 18 months and she had been in therapy prior to working with him! He cured her by tapping on certain meridian points but at the time he didn’t know he’d be able to cure her by doing that!

I had great success with EFT, not only for myself but family and friends and my clients too – I wasn’t expecting EFT to be something my massage clients would be interested, thinking they were on holiday and would simply want relaxation. But I so believed in EFT I created a leaflet to give to clients in the hope that they would seek a Therapist when they returned home to the UK, or even Germany, Holland etc.

The following year I decided I wanted to do EFT workshops – teach people how to do it – so it came as a great surprise, when I read Gary Craig’s guidelines, that the courses I had done in the UK didn’t meet his criteria.   So I found someone who had done some training with him directly (in his home apparently) and did Level 2 again (I decided I knew EFT well enough that it wasn’t necessary to do Level 1 again) and did Level 3 too.   I also attended a course that Gary Craig was doing in the  UK (working with serious illnesses) and had the awesome opportunity to meet him and have a hug!   Fantastic.

So you can see that I was very passionate about EFT, I spent a lot of time and money (not forgetting the cost of the flights to get me to the UK – plus I was in Australia early in 2008, so changed our schedule in order to fly back to Sydney to do an EFT course with another Psychologist (Steve Wells - EFTDownunder), who had been using EFT in his practice for many years) learning and studying, not only for myself but to help others too. I would tell everyone and anyone about EFT and continued to have great success – heart conditions, depression, child abuse, grief, attempted murder, smoking, relationship issues, sciatica, frozen shoulder, severe hip pain (so much so that they couldn’t lie down for a massage), stress and anxiety, self worth, alcohol etc etc

I am continually doing research and studying EFT – reading lots of case studies, learning new techniques, short cuts, different affirmations, additional tapping points etc. The original way works just as well but people were discovering quicker methods, methods to help if some issues were hard to shift, professionals in other fields were also giving advice or suggestions (Acupuncturists, Psychologist, Hypnotherapists – if you know Paul McKenna, a famous Hypnotherapists in the UK who works with the founders of NLP, has also resorted to tapping, working with people who have addictions, particularly weight issues, with great success). I also started to study NLP which I felt could enhance EFT.

NLP didn’t “grab” me at first, I suppose because, for me EFT, achieved everything you could want or need but then I realised I had some recent issues that I was finding hard to shift no matter how much I tapped (I would feel better after tapping, think I had resolved the issue only to find it would return some months later – obviously there were aspects I hadn’t cleared, didn’t realise I had). I started to read Awaken The Giant Within, Anthony Robbins (who uses NLP techniques) and came across some NLP techniques that I had learnt. I could hardly believe it, these simple techniques, advice and suggestions totally transformed my life, I healed my issues very quickly which surprised me very much because I hadn’t done any tapping. That was hard for me to accept but it really “blew me away”!

I was very excited about this book and other books too eg The Power of Your Subconscious Mind and Positive Words Powerful Results. They opened up a whole new avenue of healing techniques and so I realised, that EFT and Emotrance (another healing mode I learned and became a Practitioner of a few months after doing my EFT courses in the UK), would be incredibly powerful if combined with NLP, and the advice and suggestions contained within the other books, hence Mind Harmony 4 Life. These methods aren’t all about healing issues but they can help to change and transform your life when you are aware of them – it isn’t necessary to study and learn like I have done, simply knowing about them can change your life in an instant.

Nik & Eva Speakman when I attended their exclusive seminar Nov 08As recently as November 2008 I had the privilege and great pleasure to meet and attend a seminar run by Nik & Eva Speakman (from the hit TV show A Life Coach Less Ordinary). Their new book had been released a month or so prior to this seminar which contains life transforming techniques, ideas and information. I had written to praise their new book and was invited on their seminar to a select 30 Therapists. They are my role models, they are an awesome couple. Having learned some more about NLP I could see that they had studied NLP and had been on an Anthony Robbins course. They truly put what they teach into practice, so we can all learn from them. They taught me a technique, Visual Coding Displacement, that can help people, in a matter of minutes, with fears and phobias, or even to change how they feel about someone eg the mother in law! I actually used it the opposite way ie to help me to like eating fresh fruit – I have eaten mango whilst in Australia and would never have done that before, so it worked for me!

I am very passionate about healing techniques and my creation of Mind Harmony 4 Life – I believe to be a combination of the best healing methods - and so I want to share what I have learned with you.   It isn’t necessary to learn them, although I can teach some of them but maybe you simply want help and guidance to heal issues that are causing you pain (mentally and physically), making you unhappy, are causing stress, anxiety, depression or even serious illnesses.   It’s possible though, that like me, you have emotional and feelings but have no idea why but know they are causing you misery or are holding you back from living the life you really want to live.   A life filled with peace, joy and happiness, joy, fun and laughter.   I know what it’s like not to have those wonderful emotions in your life, to suffer from moods and depression along with a whole host of other negative emotions and feelings, so I can empathise but more importantly, I can help you.

These healing methods are natural and safe but it’s up to you whether you want to be healed or not – you might be surprised to learn that some people don’t want to heal, or are frightened of the changes to their life healing will lead to. It’s YOUR CHOICE, YOUR LIFE, do you want to be happy and healthy?  Then make a step in the right direction and book your Mind Harmony 4 Life healing holiday now!
